He is best known for his work with the Korean boy-band Infinite, which he was a part of from 2009 to 2019, but has also released three full-length solo albums under his own name. His songs, which range from acoustic pop ballads to rap-influenced tracks, offer an honest and direct portrait of modern life in South Korea, cementing his position as one of today’s most popular artists.
Born in 1988, Dong-woo was an avid songwriter in his youth, writing music and lyrics in his spare time. As part of Infinite, Dong-Woo starred in a variety of television dramas and variety shows and helped launch the group to international fame. During his 10 years with the group, he wrote and composed songs for the group and released several solo albums under his own name.
Following his departure from Infinite, Dong-woo focused on his solo career, while also writing and producing music for several other artists. He wrote the title track of EXID’s ‘Up and Down’ album, as well as producing and writing the title track of Nell’s ‘Separation Anxiety’. His first solo EP ‘O’Clock Station’ was released in 2018, followed by his second EP ‘Phase II’ in 2020. He has recently worked on the remixed version of his single ‘Clock Out’ for the Netflix Original soundtrack ‘Extracurricular’ and has written for Taeyeon’s ‘What Do I Call You’.
