Kim Jong-kook: A Singer, Actor and More

Kim Jong-kook (김종국), often simply known within the K-pop landscape as simply ‘KJK’, is a South Korean singer, actor, variety show host, and occasional composer active in the Korean entertainment industry since 1995.

As a singer, Kim Jong-kook released many hit singles and albums from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s including ‘Loveable’ and ‘One Man’. He has also won two prestigious Golden Disc Awards for his albums and various songs. Additionally, Kim Jong-kook has recently released another album in 2016, titled ‘Journeys’, showing his fans that the singer still has new music in the works.

Kim Jong-kook’s Variety Show Appearances

Kim Jong-kook, aside from his music career, has also made his mark in the entertainment industry by appearing and taking part in several South Korean variety shows such as Running Man, My Little Television, X-Man, Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education, and Strong Heart. Most notably, he is a permanent cast member of SBS’s variety game show Running Man, playing a pivotal role in the show’s many beloved segments.

Aside from his various television appearances, Kim Jong-kook also starred in various films such as Faraway Freedom, My Golden Life, Let’s Go to the Beach (Haeundae), and Windstruck. In 2008, Kim Jong-kook also released his first music video on Youtube, following the success of Psy’s Gangnam Style, titled Men Are All Like That.
